One of the best benefits of my American Express Platinum Card is access to Amex Centurion Lounges. I’ve been to many of the 28 lounges while traveling throughout the United States and worldwide. And I just visited the Atlanta Amex Centurion Lounge, which is the newest one.

Atlanta now has the largest Amex Centurion Lounge, which opened on February 14, 2024. This new lounge at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is nearly 26,000 square feet. That’s almost double the size of the next biggest Centurion Lounge at New York’s JFK!

The Overall Design

The Atlanta Amex Centurion Lounge is a residential-inspired space — with soaring ceilings, lush greenery, and two large outdoor terraces, covering 4,000 square feet. In this location, the centerpiece is a 50-year-old olive tree and a dramatic, cascading custom light sculpture. It’s an amazing space!

First, one terrace spans the length of the lounge and features the action out on the airfield. And the other one is interior-facing and provides a more Zen-like peaceful experience. Heaters and fans manage the temperature so the terraces can be used throughout the year.

Two additional unique features are a Whiskey Bar and an expansive buffet area featuring the cuisine of Chef Deborah VanTrece, a James Beard Award semifinalist and owner of three local Atlanta restaurants. In addition to the main buffet setup, Amex now offers several wellness stations throughout the lounge with gluten-free and vegan options, including protein bites, salads, smoothies, and immunity booster juice shots.

Seating For All Needs

The Atlanta Amex Centurion Lounge has numerous distinct seating areas including multiple communal desks, high-top tables, and comfortable loungers. Nearly all seats in the Centurion Lounge have access to power outlets, USB-C, and USB-A ports. But for travelers looking to get some serious work done, there are four private phone booths and five built-in workstations, available on a first-come, first-served basis, and of course, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi. For visitors that need it, there are also showers.

How To Gain Access

American Express cardmembers with a Centurion or Platinum-branded card such as The Platinum Card from American Express or The Business Platinum Card from American Express have access to Centurion Lounges within three hours of flight departure. In addition, Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business American Express Card members can access the lounge when flying on a Delta flight.

Only the primary cardholder (and authorized users) have complimentary access to the lounge. Cardholder guests are charged a fee of $50.

Location

This new Atlanta Amex Centurion Lounge can be found on Concourse E beside Gate E11. Overall, it’s worth showing up at the airport a few hours early to experience this lounge!

Safe and happy travels!
