Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos: Luxury Property Review
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is a luxury resort in Los Cabos, Mexico, nestled between the cliffside and the Pacific Ocean. Pedregal refers to a luxurious and highly secure, gated hillside community in Cabo San Lucas, famous for its breathtaking views and exclusive oceanfront properties: estates, high-end villas, and resorts. At this resort, you will be within walking distance of all that Cabo San Lucas has to offer, but you’ll be about a 35-minute drive from the San Jose del Cabo area.
Here’s my Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal review, after spending five nights at this beautiful resort last December.
Facilities
Upon arrival, after passing through the security gate, you enter the resort via Mexico’s only private tunnel and emerge into a world of luxury. The architecture immerses you in a celebration of Mexican culture. You are greeted with a welcome drink and a team ready to assist you with anything you may need.

Restaurants and Bars
In addition to private dining options and room service, the Waldorf Astoria Las Cabos restaurants offer a nice variety of options.
- El Farallon – An iconic dining experience for resort guests and others staying in the Los Cabos area. It’s situated high above the Pacific, with sweeping ocean views, and features a celebrated ocean-to-table menu.
- Don Manuel’s – This restaurant, with a charming hacienda-style setting, is in the center of the resort. From sunrise to evening, the kitchen transforms and crafts dishes from the finest regional ingredients. We enjoyed dinner here on our first night and breakfast every morning. There is live music in the evenings.
- The Beach Club – Relaxed atmosphere with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the Pedregal Mountain. We enjoyed some delicious fish tacos for lunch one afternoon.
- Crudo – Positioned near one of the infinity pools, Crudo serves seafood specialties and is open midday.
- Neutral Cafe – A refined coffee experience showcasing global varieties with a spotlight on local coffee communities.
- The Agave Study – Celebrates Mexico’s rich heritage through a guided journey of agave spirits—from tequila in Jalisco to mezcal in Oaxaca. We enjoyed cocktails here and also experienced an amazing tasting. Click for: A little taste of our tasting!

Pools and Beach
Every room features a private plunge pool, but there are also four other pools on the property: an adult pool, a family pool, a kids’ pool, and a spa pool. Although you cannot swim in the ocean at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos because of the dangerous rip currents, there are beaches nearby for swimming.

Spa and Fitness Center
The spa is amazing! The therapies are inspired by the wisdom of traditional Mexican folk healing. I had the 80-minute Indigenous Herbal Detox. My entire spa experience was incredibly tranquil and, by far, the most relaxing spa experience I’ve ever had.

The Fitness center was great, too. It had all of the equipment you could need, but I focused on the complimentary fitness classes. I participated in yoga classes, set on the grounds of the property.

Our Room
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos has a variety of accommodations: guest rooms, suites, beachfront suites, and multi-bedroom Casitas or Villas. Many options for couples, friend groups, and families.
We had a guest room, which was beautifully decorated. There were many extras, like a premium bottle of tequila, daily afternoon chips, guacamole and Coronas, a Waldorf Astoria beach bag, and a nightly turndown experience. Since our stay was leading up to the holidays, they also gave us a heart-shaped, keepsake glass ornament.

My favorite part of our room was the plunge pool with amazing ocean views. We saw some spectacular sunrises from our room. Click here for a quick tour of our room.

Things to Note
- The service at the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos is unmatched! I started communicating with them before our arrival to set a few things up, like my spa appointment. A woman named Raquel helped me, and then I met her onsite as she continued to make sure we had what we needed and were enjoying ourselves.
- Downtown Cabo San Lucas is only a short walk away, with restaurants, bars, and entertainment close at hand. These other options added some more variety to our stay. We always felt safe walking to and from the hotel.
- There was a special celebration for the approaching Christmas holiday. Families with children especially enjoyed the entertainment and snacks that were a part of the festivities. It was a fun time to be there!
- The resort is wrapping up a phased renovation project that spanned three years. This summer, the property closed from July 15th to September 30th, in order to refresh all 112 rooms, suites, casitas, and villas. We didn’t personally notice any renovations during our stay last year. The official reopening is October 1, 2025.

The Bottom Line
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is a beautiful property with a team of people working to ensure you have a remarkable time. Thoughtful and unexpected extras lead to an amazing stay! I look forward to a future visit to this property to see the final renovations myself.

An alternative resort in the area is the Hilton Los Cabos Resort & Spa. Here is my review of that property.
